Following the horrific and senseless shooting of our dear friend and long-time member of Taking The Initiative Party Sasha Johnson, many of you have offered your support and help and we would like to take this time to say thank you.
Last Saturday a vigil was held at a bandstand in Ruskin Park, Camberwell for Sasha. The amount of love and support showed was truly outstanding as more than 150 of her supporters turned up to show their support and solidarity. Memories, stories, and even some tears were shed but most importantly prayers for Sasha’s full and speedy recovery were shared.
Although we do not know the cause of the tragic event we will continue to hope and pray that Sasha gets the justice she deserves. No one should have to endure this level of violence especially if it is for advocating for what they believe in.
As a community, we must take a stand against crimes such as these and continue to stand up against injustices.
