Join our live discussion on wellbeing and healthy eating in lockdown tomorrow evening!

Updated: May 13, 2021

Featuring special guests Take Three Chefs.

With the country now in its third official national lockdown many of us will be spending a lot more time at home. This means many of our regular social and physical activities will be put on hold or at the very least will be disrupted. We are currently facing very uncertain times which can have a negative effect on our wellbeing and mental health.

We as the Taking the Initiative Party aim to help people through these trying times in any way we can. One of the ways in which we hope to do this is through our Zoom meetings which we hold on a fortnightly basis. This week, on Wednesday 27th January at 8pm we will be hosting a Zoom meeting on the topic of well-being and how to cook healthy food during the lockdown.

One misconception of covid-19 is that your diet has no impact on how your body interacts with the virus. Although eating healthily cannot stop you from contracting the virus, according to the World Health Organisation (WHO) maintaining a healthy lifestyle could boost your chances of a fast recovery by boosting your immune system.

So, what exactly is a healthy diet? We will be discussing this Wednesday evening with the founders of Take Three Chefs: Kevin Muhammad, Lyndon Wissart, Richard Simpson. All three chefs offer learning resources for preparing healthy and nutritious meals and are dedicated to saving lives by providing healthy cooking information and solutions for disease prevention. Mr Mohammad currently teaches at a boy’s school Berkshire and runs an event catering company as well a private cooking workshop. Mr Wissart is a professional chef with over 30 years of experience under his belt and was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes in 2015. Mr Simpson is the proud owner of Cummin up Caribbean restaurant takeaway and caterers which he started in 1991 with his wife.
